Enterprise Television- Financial Transactions: Jigawa State to Employ Chartered Accountants
Jigawa State government has pledged to ensure accountability in the management of public financial transactions in all its segments by employing chartered accountants.
Governor Muhammad Badaru gave the assurance while receiving the president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Isma’il Muhammad, in his office.
He said the government will partner with the association to support students willing to participate in accounting technicians examinations to attain certificates.
He explained that more chartered accountants would be employed to sanitize financial transactions at state and local government levels in the Jigawa state.
Muhammad had earlier said that ICAN was at the government house to strengthen the existing cordial relations with Jigawa.
According to him, the institute, established 50 years ago, has produced over 43,000 members to ensure financial management in the country.
A passionate appeal was made, to the governor to assist the association with a piece of land to establish its zonal headquarters in the state, the request, which was promptly granted and approved by the state government.
