Enterprise Television- FCMB, Others Donate N3 Million to Entrepreneurs
First City Monument Bank Plc, in partnership with other individuals and organisations, has awarded grants worth N3 million to participants under the Youth Entrepreneurship Empowerment Programme scheme.
According to a statement, the winners were presented with cheques at the Lagos National Youth Service Corps secretariat on October 11, 2018, after the successful completion of the programme.
The statement described YEEP as an initiative of Love Idoko’s Activate Success International Foundation in conjunction with FCMB, with the aim of giving corps members the opportunity to learn and empower them with start-up funds.
It said Lagos State House of Assembly, Desmond Elliot; the Managing Director, Vodi Tailors, Seyi Adekunle, and the Executive Director, Yiaga Africa, Samson Itodo, were among the other facilitators of the event.
The statement read in part, “Beyond the grants from FCMB, Mr. Seyi Adekunle supported 12 corps members with N1.2 million; Mr. Samson Itodo supported 10 corps members with N500,000 and Desmond Elliot supported four corps members with N200,000.
“A total of N3 million was given to 32 business-minded corps members that have proved themselves worthy of the money through their ideas and compelling appeal.”
The convener, Idoko, said since the event started, she had been trying to find the appropriate day for the presentation.
She said she was glad it had finally happened as there were a lot of youths who needed just a little push of motivation.
Idoko added, “I feel fulfilled knowing that I can make an impact in such people’s lives. I also want to seize the opportunity to thank the director general, all deputy directors and workers of the NYSC present at the presentation.
“To all our sponsors, facilitators and guests, we are really grateful for their consistent support. It has been an honour to partner with them in making the dreams of these young ones a reality.”
