Telecom Satellite TV (TSTV) partners with Europe-based television station, ABS Global, to launch a Direct-to-Home (DTH) satellite TV in Nigeria. The pay TV satellite would cover sub-Saharan African countries and would provide over 100 TV channels to subscribers.
The TSTV Managing Director, Bright Echefu during the signing of the Multi-Transponder agreement with their ABS partner had mentioned that their services would offer viewers the experience of HD and SD video, internet services, broadband, TV and radio at a very affordable rate.
The unique model “is that it would start with 100 channels of local, regional and international in Yoruba, Igbo Hausa, Ghanaian,, Sierra Leonean, Liberian Languages among others. It would also provide news, entertainment, education content”.
ABS Global Managing Director Africa, Flavien Bachabi attests that ABS shall provide the space capacity and technical support for the operations. He added that TSTV has the right content and premium product to satisfy the growing demand of Nigeria adding that it would assist ABS take Nollywood to great height “We have found out that Nigerians have passion for sport and entertainment industry and we want to be part of the success story”.
